Joyful Start to Summer in Hamburg Billstedt
June 30, 2020
No more music, no more concerts, no more music lessons—the many children in the Hamburg district of Billstedt had been left with nothing since the Corona measures were implemented in March.
It’s amazing what the organizers from the Kulturpalast Hamburg Foundation and our project partner “Klangstrolche – Music for Every Child” have planned for this summer at home. With great enthusiasm, creativity, and tremendous improvisational talent, a colorful summer program, “Billstedter Sommerleben,” was assembled. It kicked off on June 24. The lovingly organized program invites children and their families to enjoy terrace concerts, culinary journeys around the world, readings, children’s theater, and much more. The complete program can be found here.
For those who cannot make it there, we highly recommend the fun explanatory and participatory videos from the stay@home Klangstrolche. Every week, there are new ideas, such as videos, coloring pages, and songs to sing along with, especially designed for parents and educators in emergency care.
