Do good and talk about it.

Sir Peter Ustinov makes the world a little better.

Kulturnachrichten 1

The architect of the Russian Chapel on Mathildenhöhe, Leonti Nikola Jewitsch Benois, was the grandfather of the legendary actor Sir Peter Ustinov (1921–2004). Precisely because Peter Ustinov was also active as a playwright, storyteller, illustrator, and director, and was awarded two Oscars, he felt his meaningful calling and founded a foundation together with his son Igor Ustinov around 25 years ago.

“We firmly believe that education is the key to a fulfilling and self-determined life. This is why we support children where the need is greatest, providing improved basic care and school education. We also offer creative projects in art, music, dance, and theater to nurture children’s creative talents and help them reach their full potential.”

One example is the young jazz musician David Jacobi, who is emerging as a future Junior Ambassador of the Sir Peter Ustinov Foundation.

“By providing better access to schools and education, we actively advocate for a world full of openness, tolerance, and mutual respect. We want to create an environment where children can grow up free of prejudice and develop into open-minded and empathetic individuals,” says the foundation.

The Sir Peter Ustinov Foundation has supported around 90 projects in Europe, Asia, Africa, and South America.

One particularly remarkable project is the Ustinov Day Care Centre in Tanzania, which is wholeheartedly dedicated to helping underprivileged children. Here, they not only receive a basic education but also the opportunity to develop their talents and gain perspectives for a better future.

Currently, the ideas and mission of Sir Peter Ustinov and his son Igor Ustinov (artist, sculptor, and inventor), together with a dedicated Ustinov team in Frankfurt am Main, are inspiring plans for a Sir Peter Ustinov Festival.

Many younger people no longer know Peter Ustinov. According to the motto, “Do good and talk about it”, this was not necessary in the past due to the prominence of his name, says Ali Taşbaşı, Chairman of the Foundation.

It is now even more important to make the Ustinov network more visible and to gain more supporters to continue funding lighthouse projects. If you want to learn more or support the Sir Peter Ustinov Foundation, you can find further information here:
