Back to School finally!

The children in Kenya are excited, and so are we! The Kenyan health authorities have given the green light for the reopening of ECD schools (preschools) in Mombasa and the rural area of Butere.

Both preschools are supported by the Peter Ustinov Foundation. To continue classes, tents were purchased that now serve as temporary classrooms.

Normally, there is enough space for all students in the school building. However, the new hygiene rules during the pandemic require more distance between the children in the classroom. Thanks to the support from the Peter Ustinov Foundation, tents were purchased and new tent classes were set up. With their feet on the grass, each at their own little table, the children can now learn together in the school garden.
