Sir Peter Ustinov Foundation Shows Presence at the Frankfurt Book Fair

Peter Fischer

Frankfurt am Main, 07 October 2025 – This year, the Sir Peter Ustinov Foundation was once again represented at the Frankfurt Book Fair. “Our presence at the Book Fair allows us to introduce the Sir Peter Ustinov Foundation to a diverse audience. Our central mission is to combat prejudice, stand up for mutual respect, and give children a better start in life through education,” explained Ali Taşbaşı, Executive Board Member of the Sir Peter Ustinov Foundation.

Conversation with Peter Fischer

Peter Fischer, long-time and outspoken president of Eintracht Frankfurt, visited the booth of the Sir Peter Ustinov Foundation at the Frankfurt Book Fair. Renowned Frankfurt artist Mike Kuhlmann, who joined the Foundation’s Board of Trustees in August 2025, interviewed Peter Fischer at the Foundation’s booth. The conversation between Kuhlmann, Fischer, and Executive Board Member Ali Taşbaşi focused on respect, tolerance, and the fight against prejudice—topics that closely connect Fischer with the Peter Ustinov Foundation. Fischer has always taken a clear and firm stance against racism, antisemitism, and homophobia; he urged everyone to stand up courageously for respect and against all forms of intolerance in everyday life, at work, and during leisure time.

Changing the World with Love

The Ustinov Foundation supports children and young people worldwide who find themselves in difficult living situations by providing better basic care and education, as well as creative projects involving art, music, dance, and acting. The goal is to create better living conditions through access to education and creativity, while fostering children’s personal development and improving their prospects for the future.

Support from Network Partners

In addition to its global support projects, the Ustinov Foundation works together with its network partners—the Ustinov College in Durham (England), the Ustinov Institute in Vienna, the Ustinov Prejudice Awareness Forum in Lausanne, and the Ustinov Hoffmann Construction System in Switzerland—to promote education, respect, and tolerance. In Germany, not only do seven Sir Peter Ustinov Schools bear the name of the Foundation’s founder, but they also carry forward his values.

The Legacy of Sir Peter Ustinov

Sir Peter Ustinov, best known as a charismatic, Oscar-winning actor in the second half of the 20th century, also directed operas and theatre productions and made a name for himself as an enthusiastic writer and beloved entertainer. Above all, however, this multitalented figure was a committed humanist who used his international popularity for good causes—for example, serving as an International UNICEF Ambassador from 1986 until his death in 2004. In 1999, he founded the Sir Peter Ustinov Foundation together with his son Igor, who followed in his father’s creative footsteps as a sculptor, opera singer, and inventor. “To confront prejudice and poverty with love, respect, education, and creativity—and thus make the world a better place—was my father’s great vision. His legacy lives on through the Sir Peter Ustinov Foundation,” said Igor Ustinov, Chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees.
