Craft Supplies for Children in South Africa During Lockdown
May 19, 2020
The COVID-19 pandemic has become a global challenge. Millions of people are suffering under the lockdown, especially children in South African townships.
The ongoing closure of schools has resulted in children and their families being isolated in cramped living conditions. Households lack not only food but also ideas and materials to keep their children creatively engaged.
The Butterfly Art Project responded promptly and started organizing craft materials for needy children days before the lockdown began. In a major relief effort, over 4,000 packages containing pencils and paper have already been sent to the townships.
